Weekly Torah Portion – Vayakhel & Pekudei

Social distancing and Self Isolation during the time of COVID-19 (coronavirus) is going to be as tough and long as a marathon. At the end of a marathon you run through the tape at the finish line. In this week’s torah portion at the end of building of the tabernacle, a special ritual takes place. What will be our formal ritual at the end of this crisis?

Welcome to the “Raising Holy Sparks” podcast! Hope you enjoy these short weekly insights into the torah portion! This week we dive deep into the Double Parshah of Vayakhel & Pekudei.

Sources mentioned in connection with this week’s torah portion:

  • Exodus 40:33 – “When Moses had finished the work, the cloud covered the Tent of Meeting, and the Presence of Adonai filled the Tabernacle. Moses could not enter the Tent of Meeting, because the cloud had settled upon it and the Presence of the Lord filled the Tabernacle. When the cloud lifted from the Tabernacle, the Israelites would set out, on their various journeys; but if the cloud did not lift, they would not set out until such time as it did lift. For over the Tabernacle a cloud of Adonai rested by day, and fire would appear in it by night, in the view of all the house of Israel throughout their journeys.”

Thanks for listening and looking forward to being on this journey through the books of the Torah with you!
